What is Search Engine Marketing?
Search Engine Marketing or SEM is a general term that encompasses Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click Campaigns, and other online visibility strategies that promote branding and name recognition.

External Organic Search Engine Optimization should also be part of the SEM plan. This involves directory listings, inbound links, link exchanges, article submissions, and Internet press releases.
Finally, your sites pages should be carefully submitted to search engines and directories. Beware of services offering “to submit to 10,000 directories and search engines for $49.99”. Those offers are usually a complete waste of time and may backfire by raising spam flags.
