It is important that everything we do be done in an ethical manner. We have an obligation to conduct business according to a set of rules that assures proper conduct in our dealings with people and clients. To that end we commit ourselves to the following rules of ethical conduct:
--We will avoid even the appearance of impropriety. Everything we do will be with the highest degree of personal and professional integrity.
--We will inform clients or potential clients of any possible conflict of interest that accepting (or continuing) an assignment might cause.
--Every contact with a client or potential client will be treated as if there is a non-disclosure agreement in place, whether or not there is a formal document requiring such behavior.
--If there is a conflict between what we know is morally or ethically correct and what the client or potential client wants we will, politely, decline the assignment.
--We have an obligation to minimize negative consequences of any system on which we work. If faced with a situation that violates this clause we have a obligation to warn or otherwise inform client or potential clients about any such threat. If the client insists we proceed, the client also must agree to hold us harmless in the event of negative results.
--All other things being equal, we will always act in a manner that is in the best interest of our clients.
--We are required to constantly upgrade our skills and knowledge. Yesterday’s skills do not solve today’s problems. We will not misrepresent what we know or what we don’t know.
Final Note: Every associate of The Coulter Group and Coulter’s Computer Consulting is required to sign and agree to this Statement of Ethics. Some of its provisions do not expire with termination of association. For example, client or potential client information remains, for all time, the property of the client.
